The National Arts Centre announces Quebec Scene closing show: GREGORY CHARLES By Special Request / Sur demande spéciale

Ottawa, March 12, 2007 — The National Arts Centre (NAC) is delighted to announce that Gregory Charles’ live show, By Special Request/Sur demande spéciale, has been added to the Quebec Scene programming lineup for one performance only. The show will close the festival on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 20:00 in Southam Hall. In this exuberant bilingual presentation, master showman Gregory Charles performs favourites from his extensive repertoire of songs as well as special requests from the audience. Tickets for this amazing one-man show go on sale at 10:00 tomorrow, Tuesday, March 13.

Phenomenon. Virtuoso. Insatiable artist. It's hard to find enough superlatives to describe Gregory Charles! Musician, dancer, singer, radio and TV host, and actor, not to mention music and history teacher, this incredibly versatile performer keeps popping up in the most unexpected places. His one-man show Black and White reached over 200,000 fans in Canada and in the United States; its resounding success confirmed his status as a "showman" in the finest American tradition, embracing blues, soul and French chanson with equal ease and skill.
Quebec Scene is proud to present Gregory Charles live at the NAC’s Southam Hall, Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 20:00. Ticket prices are $50, $60 and $70.
